While renting a movie last night from our local Redbox, I couldn’t help but over hear the most dreadful words coming out of the two 12 year old girls standing behind me. As one girl turned to the other she said pointing at The Twilight Saga: New Moon, “You want to rent this?” The other girl responded by saying, “NO! I can’t stand Robert Pattinson!”
Now, like any respectable 23 year old I almost started an argument with someone half my height and half my age. Though somehow I held my tongue. Obviously my assumption that all teenage girls liked Twilight and of course Edward (Robert Pattinson) was terribly wrong. And what stung even worse is the fact that these teen boppers were saying such harsh words on the Eve of the Eve of the The Twilight Saga Premiere of Eclipse! How dare they!

I’m not quite sure where you live, but where I live it’s been hot as…well…you can imagine. At this temperature my hobbies could currently include frying an egg on the road (has anyone actually ever done this?), sweating profusely, and acting as if the air conditioning was a gift sent from above!

Even though the trendy bib necklaces might not ever compare to the plastic ones you receive when eating ribs or lobster. It still might be worth owning one! However, the bibs I’m referring to are a pretty perfect effortless way to spice up a boring fitted tee into something a little special.
As for babies being the next trend setters, I wouldn’t hold your breath or bottle!

If it wasn’t obvious by my 2 hour commute on a bus filled with travelers to NYC that I’m not quite the typical commuter and/or New Yorker, let it be known now! Although obsessed with the Empire State from quite a young age, being a “real” girl originally from Indiana anything beyond corn fields can pretty much amaze me. So when asked for the opportunity to intern for a well-known company needless to say I jumped, skipped, and rode my butt into NYC!
As the fashion capital of the world, I thought it was only appropriate to bring a bit of Reality Chic into the city.

So here are 10 Ways Reality Just Happens to Stick Out!

After specifically covering what not to wear in Dress for Your Profession (Part 1) it’s time we look at what to wear in Dress for Your Profession (Part 2).
To Teach or Be Taught
While professors have it a little easier than teachers it’s still important to look respectable when teaching students. Teachers have the combination of dressing modestly while looking stylish and professional. What’s best about being a teacher? No business suit! Look for classics such as cardigans, blazers, and jackets because what school isn’t absolutely freezing! Since you have the privilage of not having to look business like use this to your advantage such as.a great boot cut khaki pant, bright colors, big jewelry, scarfs, dressy tanks, and flowy skirts. These all can be tweaked to the rules of your school! Having a group of new kids every semester means not being caught wearing the same outfit multiple times!

So we’ve all been there! The day where you find out your infamous dress code or the day when you realize the profession of your choice is not exactly known for high, middle, or any kind fashion! And instead you’re stuck dealing with a man CEO, a woman that forgot fashion along the way, or some sort of safety hazard that has actually never nor will happen. So because of this you struggle most mornings to come up with an outfit and blurt out the words every significant other hates to hear… “I have nothing to wear”!

Let’s face it! The MTV awards aren’t exactly known for being classy. However, you can usually count on a couple things such as… something outrageous… cough… (Christina Aguilera’s outfit) cough again… (Katy Perry’s outfit), something trendy (Jersey Shore, sorry people it won’t last forever), something worth watching (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart), something surprising (Sandra Bullock), and then someone who shines (Whitney Eve Port)!

Dear Fashion Dictator (whoever you may be),
It seems your existence is mostly invisible, but yet all too apparent when it comes to fashion. Though I don’t have a clue who you are, I can imagine that you’re quite funny. I mean, how does one approve of such trends like leopard pants, pleats, or the return of onesies without a sense of humor?
