“Why have the Runway when we have the Realway?”

Meet Kelsey Apley from Larned, Kansas! Her super cute empire waisted dress just happens to be from Vanity. She is also sporting a long necklace and earrings that are both from Dillards. Being on the “Realway” has never looked so effortless.

Let’s be real! When you’re at a family wedding or have been invited to a family wedding ( and by family wedding I pretty much mean any wedding) people are judging you! It’s kinda like the red carpet of “real life”.

Technically, when attending a wedding you have to get dressed up and then escorted down a long walkway wear everyone is staring at each other while waiting for the wedding to begin. It just happens to be very similar to the star studded roll out carpet that celebrities are escorted on  all while trying to make  their way to the big show.

So what does this mean?!

Mom jeans, ABC+ vests, and pleats are all a thing of the past (sort of…). Majority of mother’s have jumped on the fashion bandwagon and are looking hotter and younger than ever! While Mother’s Day is around the corner, you might be wondering what to get the wonderful lady that raised you… Instead of flowers, gift certificates, or a device too technologically advanced I suggest something that will last, something that she’ll use, and of course..something she could wear! If you are a man (not saying all) sometimes shopping is a little bit of a handicap bringing me to…

“Why have the Runway when we have the Realway?”

Being trendy can look fabulous without being outrageous! Take a cue from Katie Quinton who currently lives in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her off the shoulder dress is from Naaz (a local boutique in New Orleans). She is also wearing nude (a definite yes this season) shoes from Target, earrings from Express, and carrying a clutch from Wal-Mart. It’s when mixing finally met matching!

“Why have the Runway when we have the Realway?”

Looking chic is Caitlin Abernathy from Fountaintown, Indiana. She is wearing a striped cardigan (which is great for spring) from Aeropostale along with a white cami from Kohl’s. Her dark washed boot-cut  jeans (everyone needs a pair) are from Gap. Lastly, Caitlin’s flats are from Charlotte Russe.

Don’t Pull a Heidi Montag…I’ve Got Other Ways!

Posted by: admin on: 22 Apr, 2010

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of Heidi Montag and her star crazed husband Spencer Pratt. Heidi recently was all over magazine covers for having had 10 plastic surgery precedures done at once, one being breast implants. So in the case of pulling another “Heidi Montag” with boobs the size of her head (look below), embrace your A or B- cup and find other ways beside going under to help ummm….up the volume?!

One part of living in reality is knowing there is life outside of Project Runway, Twitter, and Kate Gosselin’s lack of dancing ability. However, sometimes it’s difficult to know where to start, what to do, or who to help. Unlike A-list celebs, jumping on a jet plane and heading to Africa isn’t all that realistic and isn’t exactly in many of our funds. So think of this as a place to start, a way to be fashion worthy, and a cause beyond just a “fashion statement”!

Blazers are NO LONGER a place for shoulder pads, business meetings, or working professionals! Instead they’ve become a staple piece for a night out, a touch of sexy to regular jeans, and a little Coco minus the Chanel.

“You’re as Young as You Feel…”

Posted by: admin on: 16 Apr, 2010

“You’re as Young as You Feel, but Don’t Dress Like It.”

Looking fabulous at any age is simple; looking like your 20 at any age isn’t! Being a “real” person comes with its perks: not being followed by paparazzi, no one cares if you don’t shave your legs, and wearing the same outfit twice surprisingly is not a crime. And it comes with it’s downsides: cellulite, frizzy hair, and padded bras.

Because real people don't wear sparkle pants to Olive Garden!
