Fanny Pack for the Future

Posted by: Erin Flynn on: 13 Jan, 2010

That’s right ladies! Remember those fanny packs that were unfortunately popular in the 80s and 90s? Well…let’s face it. We still see some today. However, secretly we all liked them a little, right? I mean they were conveinent. You could fit about anything you wanted in them,  and we also can’t deny that they were ideal for tourists, snacks, and carrying around small children (okay I’m joking).

Anyhow…the point I’m making is the trend is back but in a more glorified fashion. Don’t worry because this time we won’t be carrying  them around our waist with a strap buckle, but across it. It’s known as the cross body or saddle bag, a.k.a the messenger bag. We’ve seen them on our mailmen for years! They are highly convienent. Rather than carrying a giant purse that’s literally comparable to a diaper bag you can instead carry a messenger bag that crosses your body. What do you get?…Style and Comfort.  Now if only we could say that about everything else we wear.

Not only have the stars been caught with them, but they are also super chic and pratical for the everyday girl.  School, work, or just to have, they can give you the look of chicness without the “I’m trying too hard” stamped on your forehead. Best of all…you can get the look for great prices! So next time you’re lugging around that giant bag of yours with who knows what inside…try the messenger bag.
